NEW VIETNAM HELICOPTER BOOK http://hellgatepress.com/john-brennan/us-army-helicopter-names-vietnam
U.S. ARMY HELICOPTER NAMES IN VIETNAM John Brennan The personal naming of military aircraft in the Vietnam War is not unique in American history. What is unique is the near total lack of documentation of the existence of those names on in-country Army helicopters during the 1961-’73 conflict in S. E. Asia. This book remedies that once and for all!
Just a reminder, this is a two book series, this first one lists all of the named Army helos in VN. The next one (Fall 2012), "U.S. Army Helicopter Nose Art In Vietnam", will feature 300 beautiful color nose art photos, together with 400 anecdotes from Army helo veterans. They are a tandem set that go hand-in-hand and compliment each other.
- Over 3,000 Army copter names cross-referenced by Unit
- Details on Origin, Time Period, Location, Function, Type, Serial Number, Artist, Crew and more
- More than 2,000 contributor names listed and cross-referenced
- Perfect for veterans, hobbyists, historical researchers, KIA families, sociologists, aviation enthusiasts and students of Americana—just to name a few
- Includes 40 rare photographs

Get a feel for what it is like to fly the awesome Huey 509 in an airshow. An in cockpit camera allows you a rare opportunity see the view through the windshield and monitor the instrument panel. You also get to see glimpses of the Hughes OH6A (Loach) that flew in the same display at Portrush. This is the inaugural Vietnam Pair air display.

METRO NEWSPAPER 23RD AUGUST 2011
Kevin Dutton's helicopter website is a hit with Vietnam War veterans Kevin Dutton, nine, has become an internet hero with Vietnam War veterans thanks to his home-made website on the Huey helicopter. Related Tags: Vietnam Mad about the Huey: Kevin with his memorabilia on the US helicopter Kevin became fascinated by helicopters after one landed at his school four years ago.
He soon realised his favourite was the Huey – famous from Vietnam films such as Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter and Platoon – and began collecting memorabilia about them.
But since setting up a website about the Huey, he has been inundated with messages from the war’s US veterans.
One said: ‘Long after those of us who flew the Huey are gone, we will depend on young men like yourself to educate the public about the Huey.’ He’s also had a flight in the only English-based Huey.
His father, warehouse operative Ken, 48, said Kevin, of Urmston, Greater Manchester, started the website as a school project.
He said: ‘The Vietnam vets can’t understand why Kevin’s so fascinated by it, but they think the website’s superb.’
