HUEY 509
Introduction
I hope you find this web site interesting.
Bell UH1H 72-21509 will be operated on a non-profit-making basis and
financed privately. This is due to the category and flight certification of all
ex military aircraft flying in the UK.
All members of the team are aviation enthusiasts with a keen interest in all
old military aircraft. They all have various “proper” jobs and give their time
to this project on a voluntary basis.
Bell UH1H 72-21509 will be displayed at UK air shows as a static
display and, hopefully, subject to the approval of the CAA and air show
organizers, in air displays too. We will be offering limited merchandise from
our online shop, click on “shop” to view. This will contribute towards the
upkeep of the helicopter.
If you, your company or any other organization would like to sponsor the
helicopter, please contact us via the links. We hope to attend as many
different venues as possible throughout the year. At this moment in time
UH1H 72-21509 is the only flying example of this helicopter in the
UK.

EMU 309
EMU INC. derives its name
from the radio call sign of a unique unit in Army aviation history, the 135th
Assault Helicopter Company. The 135th was a typical Vietnam era Assault
Helicopter Company with the major exception that it was composed of both U.S.
Army and Royal Australian Navy personnel. Because of this unique composition,
the 135th was considered an Experimental Military Unit, hence its call sign
E.M.U. or EMU. EMU INC. is a non-profit corporation formed for the following
purposes:
1. To own and operate accurately recreated, airworthy
specimens of the aircraft utilized by the 135th AHC during its service in
Vietnam (UH-1D/H and UH-1C/M helicopters) and to make these aircraft available
to museums and air shows for public display.
2. To make available to the
public written and visual materials concerning the history of the 135th AHC
including Steve Eather’s 1998 book, Get The Bloody Job Done, as well as
photographic histories of recreated EMU aircraft maintained by EMU INC.
3. To maintain a website in conjunction with the 135th AHC website
already in existence to encourage the collection and dissemination of
information about the 135th AHC.
4. To assist other organizations in educating the public on the history of all Vietnam era Assault Helicopter
Companies.

SKY SOLDIERS
The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) is acting to provide America’s
veterans a voice with which to tell their story and the tools with which to

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation has four primary purposes:
1. Educate the American public to their military heritage through
the story of U.S. Army Aviation’s soldiers and machines.
2. Connect the American soldier to the American public as an
active, accepted, and admired member of the American family.
3. Inspire patriotism and motivate Americans everywhere toward
service to their community and Country by involving them in our Nation’s larger
military legacy.
4. Preserve authentic, flyable
